The popular king of drifting, Ken Block has several powerful Ford Fiesta cars in his garage with which he shoots attractive videos but a part of his “stud” is the winter model of Ford F-150 RaptorTRAX. He is back on track only to take on the snowy landscapes of Baldface Lodge in Nelson, British Columbia.
But he is not alone. His companions are two Monster Energy snowboarding legend athletes Ethan Deiss and Zak Hale. Made with the Block and Ford team, the main feature of his Raptor is the caterpillar tracks that allows the truck to move in any terrain, especially snow. Ken and his Hoonigan Racing crew began modifying the chassis, suspension and drivetrain.
They also made some changes to the engine, roll cage, and the gearing system. The SUV has a 6.2-liter V8 engine that delivers 650 horsepower.
Due to the specific conditions in which it is meant to drive, the Raptor has protective underbody plates, a cage for protection from rollover, and a special off-road suspension.
It is not an easy task as the snow of Baldface Lodge is deep, but Ken Block explains in details and demonstrates that no terrain is unreachable for his Ford F-150 RaptorTRAX.
