The students over at the famed Ohio Technical College sure know how to properly tune a big ol’ diesel engine.
They had just finished tuning a very large Detroit diesel 12v71 before starting it up. You can tell that by the sweet engine sound this diesel engine sings that the students tuned this engine in exactly the right way! Though I do not know what year this particular engine was produced, I do know that this two-stroke Detroit diesel series 71 engine was first made by General Motors way back in 1938.
Over the decades, this GM Detroit diesel 71 engine has powered transit buses, trucks, motorcoaches, fire fighting vehicles, motor homes and other large land vehicles. It also has been used to power small watercraft and various machinery.
